VI Shooting Guide

Editorial policy

How these guides are made

Rules for choosing a topic, checking it against primary documents, disclosing AI assistance, and correcting mistakes. This applies to every page on this domain.

1. Who writes, who approves

Guides are published under the VI Shooting Guide Editorial Team. They are drafted with generative AI. Before a guide is scheduled, the site owner reads it and approves its scope and the sources it lists. Guides have not been edited line by line by a human editor, and no individual is named as an author.

2. What counts as a source

For this subject, primary sources are:

  • Documents published by the International Paralympic Committee and World Shooting Para Sport.
  • Rule books and technical specifications of the federation that governs an event.
  • Publications of a national governing body about its own programmes.
  • Reference works for historical dates, used only to confirm facts that official sources also state.

Each guide lists its sources at the end, with a link and the date we read the page. If a claim cannot be traced to one of these, the claim is cut when found.

3. How AI is used

Generative AI writes the first draft of each guide. It is instructed not to invent numbers, dates, quotations or first-hand experience, but a draft can still contain mistakes. Each guide shows the label “AI draft, not edited” at its foot, so readers can see how it was produced. The owner's review checks that the sources are relevant to the topic; it does not re-verify every figure. Guides are also compared with their sources in a separate review, and a guide in which that review finds a wrong figure, date or source is taken off the site until it is corrected.

4. What we add

A guide aims to give the reader something a search result would not: a table built from the source documents, a plain-language re-reading of a rule, or a checklist to use before making a decision. We do not republish other sites' text, and we do not restore text from this domain's previous owner.

5. Corrections

If you find an error, write to contact@vi-shooting.com with the page address and your source. We correct the guide, or take it off the site while it is being fixed.

6. What we will not publish

  • Anything about buying or modifying firearms, or about putting money on a shooting result.
  • Equipment reviews, prices, or dealer recommendations.
  • Medical, legal, or eligibility advice that replaces a qualified professional or official.
  • Sponsored posts, paid links, or link exchanges.
  • Pages written on behalf of a manufacturer, including the domain's previous owner.
