About
What this site is, and what it is not
An independent reading guide to shooting Para sport, written for people who want the rules and the history explained plainly, including readers who need large type and strong contrast.
A different operator, a different purpose
This domain has a new owner since November 2026. The previous operator was VIASS, a German manufacturer of aiming and audio systems for vision impaired shooting, which used the domain between 2018 and 2022 to publish product pages and technical documents for its equipment.
The current operator is not VIASS. This site is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or acting on behalf of VIASS or any other manufacturer. It sells nothing, takes no commission, and accepts no payment for coverage. A manufacturer's name appears only when a public document names it, and always as a fact about that document rather than as a recommendation.
What we publish
- Explainers on the rules of shooting Para sport and how sport classes work.
- Plain descriptions of how vision impaired athletes aim with sound.
- The record of the sport at the Paralympic Games, taken from official sources.
- Practical guidance on finding a club and starting safely.
What we do not publish
- Anything about buying or modifying firearms, or about putting money on a shooting result.
- Equipment reviews, prices, or purchase advice.
- Content written on behalf of a manufacturer, a federation, or a commercial operator.
- Old pages copied from the domain's previous owner. Nothing has been restored.
Who we are not
We are not the International Paralympic Committee, World Shooting Para Sport, the International Shooting Sport Federation, or any national federation or club. We do not issue classifications, register athletes, or interpret a rule for a specific event. For decisions that affect an athlete's eligibility or a competition, the organising body's own rules and officials decide.
How the writing is produced
Every guide starts from a question a reader would actually ask, is checked against primary documents, and is reviewed before publication. Draft stages are labelled as drafts on the page itself. The full process, including how AI assistance is declared, is on the editorial policy page.
Accessibility commitments
This site uses large body text, high-contrast colours, visible focus outlines, and no animation. It supports a light and a dark colour scheme. If any page is hard to read with your settings, tell us through the contact page and we will fix it.
